Final Thoughts

Overall, I enjoyed this program and learned many things from it. There were no big surprises but I was pleased from all the new things I discovered. I think the program was planned well and the organizers did an excellent job. We should definitely do something similar in the future, Web 3.0 is right around the corner.

Learning 2.0 / Web 2.0

My Web 2.0 / Learning 2.0 experience was great. There were some in the program that I was already familiar with and some that I wasn't. The image generator was my favorite. The program definitely helped educate me with the new tools out there that I would not have known existed. I would say that I'm definitely a Web 1.5 user now and working my way to becoming a complete 2.0 user.

Rollyo

Rollyo is a great tool for people who want to limit their searches to websites that they have added on their profile. It could be narrowed down to a reliable set of websites so you won't have to worry about getting bad results. I personally prefer searching without limitations and just have to rely on knowing whether or not a source is reliable.

Library Thing...What Thing?

Library Thing is another great tool for people to use. It would be a great tool specially if one is an avid reader. Your account keeps a list of books that you may have read or planning to read. You can toss that small notebook for your book list! Below is a link to my catalog:

Image Generator

Make your own free clipart like this @ www.TXT2PIC.com with free web based tools (hundreds of image generators that run through a web broswer, no software to buy or install).

For the image generator, I found one called "Dummiez Book Cover Maker 2008". It is a neat site and enjoyed creating my own for Dummies book (see image above).

Podcasting in Libraries

After seeing what some libraries have done with utilizing podcasts, it seems that it is a great tool for librarians to use. Information about the library could be made in either audio or video form for patrons. An example of a good vodcast would be a tutorial on how to use a particular online resource. Libraries should take advantage of this great tool to expand their reach to the masses.

To Podcast or To Vodcast

Podcasts and vodcasts are interesting tools that may be used to share audio files or video files. An iPod could be used to play these files. It is useful specially if you want audios or videos on the go. One may subscribe to a radio program that has podcasts of segments that could be sent in your RSS feeds. I personally don't use podcasts or vodcasts, but would probably get into it eventually.
